One day while strolling at the mall, I chanced upon Artdeco, a very under-rated, but very very nice makeup brand. I mentioned way back that they released mineral foundations, that were good enough as deparment store brands ( since most of the brands don’t meet my approval, sigh ). I said hello to the cheerful ladies on the booth, and I got surprised that aside from the mineral foundations they have it pots, they also added something new to their line – mineral foundations in powder-dispensing packaging, and mineral eyeshadows.
I got myself three eyeshadows – they don’t have the names of the shade, but they have the number. One is #21, a creamy very pale yellow beige with satin texture ( matte, but not chalky matte ), almost off white, one is # 15, a pale flush of pink with satin texture , and one is # 12, a medium brown with minimal shimmer.
I was taught by the lady over at the Artdeco booth that the way they apply eyeshadow is a cream colored base ( so it’s # 21 ) all over the lids, topping it off with a lid color ( say # 15 ), and contouring the crease ( say, with # 12 ). What I love about Artdeco mineral eyeshadows is that I was able to find matte , or rather, satin ones. The texture is very fine, and it works well with eye primers ( see swatch, as I have used my Urban Decay Primer Potion as base there ). Satin textured eyeshadows are very hard to find, and are must-haves if you want to do makeup, specially for bridal makeup. I have lots of mineral eyeshadows here that are shimmery that I couldn’t use for doing makeup for formal events or for mature makeup ( since shimmer highlights the wrinkles ). Good thing that I’ve found this trio that I am able to achieve a good, au naturelle, soft focus eye makeup!
